JAKARTA – PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk (NCKL), known as Harita Nickel, reported strong financial performance in Q1 2025, with net profit surging by 65.47% to Rp1.65 trillion.
According to its Q1 2025 financial report released on Tuesday (29 April), NCKL’s revenue increased by 18.12% to Rp7.12 trillion.
This growth was driven by revenue from nickel processing, which amounted to Rp5.96 trillion, and nickel mining, which contributed Rp1.15 trillion.
From an operational standpoint, NCKL sold 5.49 million wet metric tonnes (wmt) of nickel ore to its affiliates.
Meanwhile, in its High Pressure Acid Leaching (HPAL) segment, nickel content reached 30,263 tonnes, consisting of:
-
Mixed Hydroxide Precipitate (MHP): 19,837 tonnes
-
Nickel Sulphate (NiSo4): 10,426 tonnes
Suparsin D. Liwan, Finance Director of Harita Nickel, stated that the company continues to tighten operational costs while focusing on long-term financial stability.
Additional operational strategies include the construction of a quicklime plant to support HPAL processes and improve cost efficiency.
The company also faces challenges within the nickel industry, including geopolitical dynamics and environmental standardisation.
Beyond efficiency measures, Harita Nickel is implementing sustainability strategies, having completed the RMAP audit and currently undergoing IRMA certification (the first in Asia for an integrated nickel company) to ensure responsible nickel sourcing practices.
The company is also finalising operations at PT KPS’s ferronickel smelter, which is now fully operational and contributed to FeNi sales totalling 43,873 tonnes of nickel content in early Q1 2025. (DH/LM)
