JAKARTA. PT Wijaya Karya Beton Tbk (WTON) has set the target for new contracts in 2023, reaching 13.1% higher than the target set in 2022. In other words, compared to IDR 7.6 trillion in 2022, WTON aims to score IDR 8.6 trillion in 2023.

Dedi Indra, Corporate Secretary of WTON, claimed that the constructions of toll roads, bridges, ports, and office towers will become WTON’s focus to attain the target of new contracts in 2023.

“Until December 2022, WTON recorded new contracts of IDR 7.01 trillion,” Indra mentioned, as quoted by Bisnis last week. Although WTON only scored IDR 7.01 trillion worth of new contracts, meaning that it failed to meet the initial target set in 2022 of IDR 7.6 trillion, Indra still seems confident in WTON’s ability to score IDR 8.6 trillion in 2023 as targeted.

Indra’s optimism is boosted by the increase of government’s budget for the infrastructure sector that climbs 7.75% higher to IDR 392 trillion. It will then be utilised to support several construction projects, including water resources, roads, bridges, and residential areas, which are expected to boost the economy consequentially. (AM/ZH)
