Jembo focuses on increasing cable exports

JAKARTA - PT Jembo Cable Company Tbk (JECC) is boosting an increase in the export market to maintain stable income amid the weakening of the rupiah against the US dollar. In the first semester of 2018, the portion of export was around 1.81%, while domestic sales accounted for 98.19% of sales.

Cahayadi, Director of PT Jembo Cable Company Tbk (JECC) said the company is seeking to increase exports for next year to keep revenues rising due to fluctuations in the rupiah exchange rate against the dollar. "We need income in dollars or other foreign currencies to stabilise the company's finances," he said in Jakarta.

In the first semester of 2018, Jembo booked sales revenue of Rp 1.42 trillion, gross profit of Rp 161.14 billion, comprehensive income of Rp 50.54 billion, and profit before tax of Rp 67.35 billion.

The biggest sales based on the product are 54.43% low voltage power cable, 19.24% medium voltage power cable, 11.18% telecommunication cable, and others 16.15%. (LK)
