Central Capital Ventura to invest in six fintech platforms

16 April 2019 13:34
JAKARTA. PT Central Capital Ventura (CCV) will inject fresh funds into five to six fintech platforms this year.

"In order to receive capital from CCV companies must fall into categories such as robo advisors, cybersecurity, core technology, and others," said CCV Director Michelle Suteja as quoted by Kontan.co.id, Monday (15/4).

Robo advisors are digital platforms that provide automatic financial planning services using a certain algorithm and minimum human involvement. Cybersecurity is a technology designed to protect networks, computers, programmes, and information data.

The company, owned by PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA), has prepared strategies to achieve financing target and face competition in the venture capital industry. Ms Suteja said the company would facilitate investments in BCA Group to anyone who seeks to partner CCV.

Despite the number of competitors, the prospect of the venture capital industry remains good this year. Many foreign venture capital firms from countries such as China, the US, and India are interested in investing in Indonesian startups.

As of March 2019, CCV has channeled financing to 14 startups. However, the company declined to disclose the amount of financing channeled to those startups. (AM/MS)
