JAKARTA - PT Kimia Farma (Persero) Tbk (KAEF) will distribute dividends of Rp 83.19 billion or Rp 14.98 per share for the 2018 fiscal year. The decision was made at the company’s Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGM) at Hotel Indonesia Kempinski, Central Jakarta on Tuesday (7/5).
The amount is 20% of the company’s 2018 net profit. In that year Kimia Farma’s net profit grew 27.27% year on year (yoy) to Rp 415.89 billion.
“Last year [we distributed dividends amounting to] 30% [of our net profit], and now 20%. Kimia Farma aims to expand its product portfolio,” said Kimia Farma CEO Honesti Basyir as quoted by CNBC Indonesia, adding that the dividends will be paid on May 28, 2019.
In 2019 Kimia Farma has budgeted capital expenditure (capex) of Rp 4.2 trillion. 60% of the capex will be allocated for the company’s organic businesses, with the remaining 40% for its non-organic businesses.
“The capex will be focused on the development of our retail business, optimisation of supply chain, [and] optimisation of diagnostic laboratory network, including office management transformation,” said Mr Basyir. (MS)
