BALI - Bali-based co-working and co-living space startup Outpost has bagged US$ 1.3 million in a seed funding round joined by investors such as EverHaus, Strypes Holdings, and Clarenberg Ventures.

Outpost said it would use the fresh funds to expand its business in Asia-Pacific, which also includes the announcement of a fourth destination after Ubud and Canggu in Bali as well as Phnom Penh in Cambodia.

“The digital nomad generation has grown up, and it’s affecting business at all levels. Employees and employers want a genuine alternative to the high intensity, 9-to-5 urban lifestyle,” said Outpost co-founder David Abraham as quoted by DealStreet Asia, Monday (20/5).

“They want to engage with the diverse and exciting lifestyle Asia offers—the sights, sounds, tastes, creativity, and energy—while also getting work done: whether that’s as part of a bigger organisation or building a business from scratch.”

Outpost offers companies and individuals the opportunity to work and live in holiday destinations by turning underperforming hotels or cottages into communal work and living spaces for professionals. The startup was founded in 2016 by Mr Abraham and Bryan Stewart, who are United States citizens. (MS)
