JAKARTA. Oil and gas investors from the United States, ConocoPhillips, plans to extend its operations at the Corridor Block in South Sumatra.

Agung Pribadi, Head of the Communication Bureau of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), said that the commitment was stated when Minister of ESDM Ignasius Jonan visited the United States. "ConocoPhillips as the existing operator is committed to continue operating the Corridor Block with the current participating interest holders," Pribadi said on Thursday (23/5) through a written statement.

According to the Ministry of ESDM's records, the ConocoPhillips contract will last until 2023. The Corridor Block itself currently contributes around 17% to national gas production in Indonesia. (KR/AR)
