MAJALENGKA - Domestic flights with jet type aircraft outside Java will be moved from Bandung's Husein Sastranegara Airport to West Java International Airport (BIJB) in Kertajati in stages. This was conveyed by Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi after conducting a follow-up meeting on the transfer of commercial jet type aircraft from Bandung to Kertajati, Tuesday (6/18).
The Minister of Transportation stated that the transfer will be carried out in stages, so that on July 1, 2019 all of these flights could already be moved.
"We will plan at the latest 1 July 2019 in stages, some on 20 and 23 June 2019, with 28 take-offs and 28 landing. So there are 56 movements of aircraft that move to Kertajati, which are all domestic jet aircraft," explained the Minister of Transportation
The Minister of Transportation added, "In Bandung, it will serve all propeller and all foreign flights totaling 32 take offs and 32 landing so that in total there are 64 movements. That is the part that we agree on. God willing, we can do it well. "
The Minister of Transportation requested PT Angkasa Pura II as an airport operator in Kertajati and Bandung to arrange flights in such a way that the two airports could complement each other, especially related to domestic and international routes.
For information on the 56 movements of jet planes that will move from Bandung to Kertajati, including flights with majors outside Java such as Banjarmasin, Balikpapan, Batam, Bali, Kualanamu, Lombok, Pekanbaru, Pontianak, Makassar and so on. For airlines that have stated their commitments include Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air, Wings Air, Sriwijaya, Nam and Citilink. (LM)
