JAKARTA - TVRI is the official broadcast partner for the 2019-2020 season of the English Premier League (EPL). The state-owned television network partners Mola TV as the holder of the EPL’s broadcasting rights in Indonesia for the next three seasons.
“We will broadcast matches in simulcast, with two matches per week on TVRI Nasional and TVRI Sport HD. There will be at least 76 matches broadcast by TVRI throughout the 2019-2020 season,” said TVRI CEO Helmi Yahya in a press conference at TVRI’s headquarters, Central Jakarta as quoted by Bola.com, Friday (21/6).
Mola TV Chief Operating Officer (COO) Ferry Wiraatmadja said the company chose TVRI as a broadcast partner due to the latter’s status as a state-owned public broadcasting agency and its commitment to the public, as well as its wide network across Indonesia.
“TVRI is willing to undergo a thorough commercial partnership with Mola TV, which is part of Mola TV’s development plan in Indonesia,” said Mr Wiraatmadja.
Aside from the EPL, TVRI also holds the broadcasting rights for a number of other sporting events such as Coppa Italia, the 2019 International Champions Cup, and 10 major badminton tournaments under the Badminton World Federation (BWF). (MS)
