JAKARTA. PT Pelita Samudera Shipping Tbk (PSSI) obtained a long-term contract worth US$ 15.7 million for the transportation and transfer of coal.

Imelda Agustina Kiagoes, Corporate Secretary of PSSI, said the contract came from PT Jembayan Muarabara, which is part of PTT Thailand (Sakari Resources Group). This contract has a term of 2 years. "The transfer of coal is from the Floating Loading Facility (FLF) operating in the East Kalimantan area," Kiagoes said through an official statement received by idnfinancials.com Monday (22/7) today.

Kiagoes added that the contract was the second long-term contract which PSSI received this year. Previously, the company had obtained a long-term contract from LG International, a Korea-based company that cooperated with PT Ganda Alam Makmur. This contract includes the transportation of coal in the East Kalimantan operating area, with a minimum volume of coal of around 1.3 million metric tonnes.

Until the end of the first semester of this year, PSSI claimed that the acquisition of a long-term contract for the FLF segment has reached 90% and 10% spot base, with a contract duration longer than in 2018. Meanwhile, long-term contracts for tug and barge have been realized 75% and 15% spot base. The vessel utilization rate until the end of June was around 95%. (KR/AR)
