JAKARTA. PT MRT Jakarta and PT Intiland Development Tbk (DILD) signed a collaboration to develop Park and Ride, a parking facility for Jakarta MRT passengers in the South Quarter business district, South Jakarta.
President Director of MRT Jakarta, William Sabandar, said that his office hoped that the existence of Park and Ride facilities would help increase the number of MRT passengers. "Especially from private vehicle users who switch to public transportation," he said on Thursday (15/8).
Intiland has allocated 3,500 square meters of land for Park and Ride. This parking area can accommodate 75 cars and around 30 units of motorcycles.
Managing Director of Intiland Development, Hendro S Gondokusumo, explained that the existence of Park and Ride is believed to provide added value to the South Quarter business district. "Being integrated with public transportation facilities, encouraging people to live, move, work in one area," he said.
Another advantage of Park and Ride South Quarter is its special rates. In contrast to regular parking rates, Park and Ride parking rates are cheaper, which is valued at Rp 5,000 per day for cars and Rp 2,000 for motorcycles. This special rate applies to MRT passengers. (AM/AR)
