JAKARTA. PT Kimia Farma Tbk (KAEF) plans to expand its export market to Africa in the second semester of 2019.

Honesti Basyir, CEO of Kimia Farma, admitted that the contribution of exports was not too significant, only about 3% of the company's total revenue. However, his party wants to modernize the quality of products and facilities, while also expand its market.

He said the cooperation that would be established will help the company to export more products to Nigeria, Honesti said as quoted by Kontan.co.id in the Asia IoT Business Platform at The Ritz Carlton, South Jakarta on Wednesday (28/8).

Based on Kontan.co.id's previous records, Kimia Farma is also actively selling its cosmetic products to Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is the third-largest contributor to export revenues for KAEF, only below Nigeria and Yemen.

KAEF currently has 1,300 pharmacy networks, 600 clinics and 60 laboratories. Honesti said, his party had plans to acquire a hospital in the future. (AM/AR)
