BANDUNG - The Ministry of Public Works and People’s Housing (PUPR) targets Section 1-3 of the 33km-long Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan (Cisumdawu) Toll Road to be functionally operational in the homecoming flow in 2020. The completion of the overall construction of 61.5 Km is targeted to be completed end of 2020.

"We are optimistic that by the end of 2020, Cisumdawu Toll Road can be completed. For the homecoming 2020, Section 1-3 is expected to be functionally through Sumedang. In Lebaran 2019, we have also opened, but only reached the tunnel in Rancakalong," said PUPR Danang Parikesit, Head of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) in a press release.

The government provides construction support for Sections 1 & 2 along 29 Km to increase investment feasibility. Funding for the Government portion uses state funds and the Chinese Government loan. Sections 3-6 of 32.8 Km are undertaken by the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) of PT. Citra Karya Jabar Tol (CKJT) with an investment of Rp 8.41 trillion.

The presence of the Cisumdawu Toll Road will facilitate vehicle access from Bandung to Kertajati Airport in Majalengka and support the development of the Cirebon-Subang-Majalengka (Rebana) "golden triangle" area as a new center of economic growth. (LM)
