Grab partners Heineken to sell alcoholic drinks through delivery service

JAKARTA. Grab has signed a strategic partnership with Heineken to sell alcoholic drinks through the former's delivery service.

Grab CEO Anthony Tan said that the partnership will benefit Heineken's official merchants in Southeast Asia. "We believe this will empower merchants to unlock even more opportunities to outserve customers, allowing both HEINEKEN and Grab to win the hearts and minds of even more customers in the region," said Mr Tan in a press release, Tuesday (17/9).

Meanwhile, Heineken Asia-Pacific President Dolf van den Brink said that the partnership will assist the brewery's digital transformation. "This initiative, which is very much aligned with our company’s digital transformation, opens a whole world of opportunities for us–rom introducing innovative ways of launching new products to giving consumers new channels to buy our products," said Mr van den Brink.

The collaboration will allow Grab's customers in Southeast Asia to purchase Heineken products as well as using GrabPay in events held by Heineken. In addition, Heineken will also be able to process anonymous data which identifies its sales pattern on the Grab platform. (KR/MS)
