Lion Air to open Makassar - Manokwari flight route

JAKARTA - Lion Air, a member of Lion Air Group will open direct flights connecting South Sulawesi to West Papua effective on October 9, 2019. Opening of the new Lion Air Makassar - Manokwari - Makassar route for the initial stage will be served once per day or seven times a week.

Lion Air will accommodate air travel for travelers from Makassar via Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in Maros, South Sulawesi (UPG) to Rendani Airport, Manokwari Regency, West Papua (MKW).

Lion Air will start the inaugural flight number JT-784 from Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport at 08.55 WITA and is scheduled to arrive at Rendani Airport at 13:00 WIT.

On the same day Lion Air serves the return route, using flight number JT-785 from Rendani Airport at 13.40 WIT and is expected to arrive at Sultan Hasanuddin Airport at 15.40 WITA. Lion Air asserted, in an effort to improve the quality of flight services, all operations continue to prioritize safety, security and comfort.

Later, Lion Air will land the first Boeing 737-800 Next Generation (NG) aircraft with a capacity of 189 economy class or Boeing 737-900ER which has 215 economy class seats. (LM)
