JAKARTA - Siti Nurbaya Bakar, former Minister of Environment and Forestry, was summoned by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to the State Palace, regarding the preparation of President Jokowi's new cabinet for his second term (2019-2024). Siti Nurbaya was asked by President Jokowi to continue her service as the Minister of Environment and Forestry in the new cabinet.
This was stated by Siti Nurbaya at her press conference after meeting President Jokowi at the State Palace today (22/10). She said that she was allowed to give a statement to the press regarding her appointment as minister in the new cabinet.
Regarding the issue of forest fires, Siti Nurbaya said the extent of forest fires that occurred in the era of President Jokowi was lower than its extent during the era of previous presidents. During Jokowi's first term, she said, the fire management was anticipatory. (LK/AR)
