59 Chinese entrepreneurs are inspecting the potential locations for furniture industry

JAKARTA. Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) is accompanying 59 Chinese entrepreneurs to review several potential locations to build their furniture factories in Central Java.

Bahlil Lahadalia, Head of BKPM, said a number of potential locations including Pemalang, Kendal and Batang. In Pemalang, he said there were already 200 hectares of land which can be developed as an industrial area. Meanwhile in Kendal, said Lahadalia, furniture entrepreneurs were invited to visit the Furniture and Wood Processing Industry Polytechnic in the Kendal Industrial Zone (KIK).

"Incoming foreign investment can partner and increase the competitiveness of the domestic furniture industry, so that it becomes a leading export," Lahadalia said on Thursday (7/11) today.

Previously, Lahadalia stressed that it would accompany potential investors to realize their investments in Indonesia. This commitment, said Lahadalia, is in accordance with President Joko Widodo's instructions to improve the level of ease of investment in Indonesia. (KR/AR)
