JAKARTA. The Indonesian Consumers Protection Foundation (YLKI) urges Grab to stop its GrabWheels electric scooter service and refine its business model to prioritize user safety.

Head of YLKI Daily Committee, Tulus Abadi, said Grab did not educate its GrabWheels customers. "YLKI asks Grab to stop renting electric scooters before improving safety aspects for its users," Abadi said as reported by Kontan on Thursday (14/11) today.

In addition, YLKI also urges Grab to ensure that GrabWheels users understand traffic signs, since there is no specific infrastructure designed for electric scooter users.

"YLKI supports the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency which will regulate this matter, so that it is quickly passed by the Governor of DKI Jakarta," said Abadi. (KR/AR)
