JAKARTA. PT Astra International Tbk's (ASII) infrastructure business line Astra Infra has announced a 20% increase in traffic on toll roads operated by the company as of October 2019.
Astra Infra Group CEO Djap Tet Fa said that from January to October (10M) 2019 there were 87.31 million vehicles using five toll roads operated by Astra Infra: Tangerang-Merak (72.4 km), Cikopo-Palimanan (116.8 km), Semarang-Solo (72.6 km), Jombang-Mojokerto (40.5 km), and Surabaya-Mojokerto (36.3 km). "There was a significant increase," Mr Djap told IDNFinancials.com at the company headquarters, Monday (25/11).
According to Mr Djap, in the same period last year the number of vehicles using Astra Infra's toll roads only amounted to 71.49 million. The increase, he said, was supported by the high mobility of four-wheeled vehicles.
Thus, Astra Infra is optimistic that the volume of users on the company's toll roads will grow further. Late this month, the company is scheduled to commence the operation of the 11.2-km Kunciran-Serpong toll road. (KR/MS)
