As of November 2019, OJK has revoked licenses of 9 BPRs

JAKARTA - As of November 2019, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) has revoked the licenses of nine People's Credit Banks (BPR) in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, West Java, Bali, and Papua. Since January 2006, OJK has frozen 100 problematic BPRs in Indonesia.

According from the information from the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS), those nine BPRs including BPRS Hareukat (Banda Aceh), BPRS Safir Bengkulu (Bengkulu), BPR Fajar Artha Makmur, BPR Efita Dana Sejahtera (West Java), BPR Calliste Bestari, BPR Legian (Bali), BRPS Pancadana, BPRS Jabar Tsur (East Java), and BPR Muamalat Yotefa (Papua).

On the other hand, LPS set the deadline for submitting insurance claims for ex-customers of BPR LPN Kampung Baru, Muara Paiti, West Sumatra on 28 February 2020, five years after the Financial Services Authority (OJK) revoked the BPR's business license on 2 March 2015.

The claims will be paid through PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI), Muara Pati, Lima Puluh Kota, West Sumatra. (LK/AR)
