BOGOR - Observer from Brawijaya University’s Faculty of Economics and Business Dr Dias Satria said that PT Asuransi Jiwasraya’s (Persero) default case is “purely a legal matter” and should not be made political.
“The Jiwasraya default case should not be made political through framing that could obscure the actual matter,” Dr Satria told Antara, Wednesday (25/12).
All parties involved, said Dr Satria, should view the Jiwasraya affair as an effort to clean up SOEs as a whole.
“It’s possible that other SOEs have similar issues that have not yet surfaced. This is purely a legal matter, and as such we should let the legal process take place,” he added.
In addition, Dr Satria also encourages all involved parties to refrain themselves from getting political about the issue, which could obscure the core problems.
“Rushing to judgment before a court decision is part of framing,” said Dr Satria.
“We should fully support the law enforcement effort. Whoever is guilty must be jailed, including the intellectual actors.” (MS)
