02 January 2020 14:08

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina’s (Persero) Marketing Operation Region (MOR) III has ensured that the distribution of fuel and LPG in the Greater Jakarta area remains secure amid the floods affecting the region.

As reported by Bisnis.com, Pertamina’s depot in Plumpang, North Jakarta has distributed over 6,000 kilolitres (kl) of fuel out of the required 10,000 kl so far.

“Out of 741 petrol stations in Greater Jakarta, 14 are currently inoperational for safety reasons, considering that water level around the petrol stations is quite high at 30 to 50 cm,” said Pertamina MOR III Communication and CSR Manager Dewi Sri Utami in an official statement, Thursday (2/1).

Out of the 14 inoperational petrol stations, nine are located in West Jakarta, two in Central Jakarta, two in Bekasi Regency, and one in Tangerang City.

To ensure secure LPG supply, Pertamina will seek unaffected roads to be used as distribution paths. LPG agents and depots, according to the company, will remain on standby to ensure secure supply and distribution during the great floods. (MS)
