JAKARTA - PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM) or Telkom has prepared diesel generator sets for service recovery in the aftermath of the Greater Jakarta floods.

According to Telkom CEO Ririek Adriansyah, several devices including base transceiver stations (BTSs) were affected by the floods, which caused disruption to cellular communications. Thus, the company has prepared generator sets and reserves for flood-affected BTSs.

“There was disruption to our Indihome services and BTSs due to power outage. Thus, Telkom has prepared generator sets to provide backup power and normalise all services,” said Mr Adriansyah in an official statement, Friday (3/1).

Communication disruption to Telkom networks occurred in Jakarta, Bekasi, and Tangerang due to the floods on January 1, 2020. Communication services were greatly affected by power outage that occurred in the aftermath.

“We are trying to speed up the recovery of our devices so that our services will be back and running,” said Mr Adriansyah. (MS)
