Bukit Asam will transfer its remaining treasury shares through private placement

JAKARTA. PT Bukit Asam Tbk plans to transfer its remaining treasury shares through a private placement.

Suherman, Corporate Secretary of PTBA, stated during the disclosure of information on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) that the transfer would be done before maturity date in December 2021.

The total number of treasury shares which are still owned by PTBA is 330.29 million shares or 2.87% of the total issued and fully paid shares. Some of those shares will also be allocated for the Management Employee Stocks Ownership Program (MESOP) or the Employee Stocks Ownership Program (ESOP).

In the disclosure of the information, PTBA stated that it had made three buybacks in the period of 2012 to 2015, bringing the total number of PTBA's treasury shares to 980.28 million shares. 649.98 million of them had been transferred, on 2 April 2019 (63.17 million shares), 8 May 2019 (490.72 million shares), and 4 December 2019 (96.09 million shares).

"The company's treasury shares transferred earlier are treasury shares from the first and second buyback," Suherman wrote in a disclosure. (AM/AR)
