JAKARTA. Yum! Brands Inc., owner of the KFC and Pizza Hut franchises, will acquire Habit Restaurants Inc., a food company, for Rp 5.2 trillion.
According to a Bloomberg report, Habit Restaurants is expected to be Yum! Brands' new brand in the field of hamburgers, since the company has a more exclusive business format compared to McDonald's and Burger King.
The acquisition of Habit Restaurants is expected to be completed by the end of the first half of 2020. Habit Restaurant has also recently expanded its franchise network to China and Cambodia, to strengthen the food business in Asia.
Yum's interest to acquire other companies have been seen since 2 years ago. In 2018, Yum! Brands acquired Grubhub Inc. and Quick Order to strengthen its food business chain. (KR/AR)
