Citilink passengers take 10% dip at year-end

10 January 2020 14:10

JAKARTA PT Citilink Indonesia, the low-cost subsidiary of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (GIAA), recorded a dip in passengers by 10% in November 2019.

According to Citilink Corporate Secretary Resty Kusandarina, the drop in passengers was caused by improvement in land transportation infrastructure in Java. In addition, the figures were also affected by stagnant economic growth in 2019.

"A lot of people refrained from flying," said Ms Kusandarina as quoted by Kontan, Friday (10/1).

Nevertheless, Citilink remains optimistic that its passengers in 2020 can grow 22%. The target is considered realistic due to the projected economic growth of 5.6% in the 2020 State Budget Plan. (KR/MS)
