JAKARTA - PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) recorded US$ 3.4 billion in syndicated loan disbursement throughout 2019. During the year the company was involved in 34 private and SOE projects worth US$ 12.32 billion.
According to Bank Mandiri Corporate Banking Director Alexandra Askandar, the company continues to actively strengthen its presence in the international syndication market. As well as topping the rank of Indonesia’s largest syndicated loan providers according to Bloomberg, Bank Mandiri is also ranked first in the publication’s list of ASEAN Mandated Lead Arrangers and Bookrunners.
“Last year our syndicated loan disbursement continued to develop, including structured finance,” said Ms Askandar in an official statement received by Bisnis Indonesia, Sunday (12/1).
“This shows our strong commitment to supporting the government’s vision of development.”
Throughout 2019, Ms Askandar added, Bank Mandiri disbursed syndicated loans to sectors including infrastructure, electricity, oil and gas, energy, and mining. As of September last year, the company’s consolidated loans grew 11.5% year on year (yoy) to Rp 806.8 trillion while its non-performing loan (NPL) ratio dropped by 48 basis points (bps) to 2.53%. (MS)
