21 January 2020 16:12

JAKARTA. The House of Representatives (DPR) has not followed up on the draft of Mineral and Coal Mining Law (Minerba), which was drafted to revise Law Number 4/2009.

Hariyanto, Head of Sub Directorate of Coal Business Guidance of the Director-General of Mineral and Coal of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, said the bill was still stuck at DPR. "Still waiting for the House's steps related to the Minerba Law," Hariyanto told Bisnis Indonesia on Monday (20/1) yesterday.

There has been no change in the draft after the government submitted it in September 2019.

In addition, the draft will also rearrange mining area permits. So in the future, it is hoped that there will be a role for the central government in granting mining area permits. (KR/AR)
