Irfan Setiaputra named as new Garuda boss

JAKARTA - Former PT Industri Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Persero) or INTI President Director Irfan Setiaputra has officially been named as the new President Director of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (GIAA), replacing Ari Askhara who was sacked due to his involvement in a smuggling scandal.

Mr Setiaputra served as INTI President Director from 2009 to 2012. In addition, he also had stints as CEO of PT Titan Mining Indonesia (2012-2014), COO of PT ABM Investama Tbk (2015-2016), President Director of PT Cipta Kridatama (2014-2017), and President Director of PT Reswara Minergi Hartama (2017). Prior to joining Garuda, he served as CEO of Sigfox Indonesia.

The state-owned airline's EGM on Wednesday (22/1) also named former Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) Triawan Munaf as President Commissioner. Chairal Tanjung and Dony Oskaria, who resigned from the company's Board of Commissioners as a response to its financial report manipulation scandal in early 2019, returned to the airline as Vice President Commissioner and Vice President Director respectively.

The following is the new Garuda Indonesia Board of Directors:

  • President Director: Irfan Setiaputra

  • Vice President Director: Dony Oskaria

  • Director of Operations: Tumpal Manumpak Hutapea

  • Director of Technical Operations: Rahmat Hanafi

  • Director of Services, Business Development, and Information Technology: Ade R. Susardi

  • Director of Commercial and Cargo: M. Rizal Pahlevi

  • Director of Finance and Risk Management: Fuad Rizal

  • Director of Human Capital: Aryaperwira Adileksana

The following is the company's Board of Commissioners:

  • President Commissioner: Triawan Munaf

  • Vice Deputy President Commissioner: Chairal Tanjung

  • Independent Commissioner: Elisa Lumbantoruan

  • Independent Commissioner: Yenny Wahid

  • Commissioner: Peter F. Gontha
