ICB to facilitate Siemens investment in new capital

22 January 2020 13:40

JAKARTA. The Investment Coordinating Board (ICB) has agreed to form a special team to facilitate Siemens' investment in Indonesia's planned new capital city.

According to ICB Head Bahlil Lahadalia, the team will jointly consist of Siemens and BKPM delegates. "Siemens will cooperate with the Indonesian government. I hope Siemens will form a small team with the ICB to realise its role in the new capital," Mr Lahadalia told Bisnis Indonesia, Wednesday (22/1).

Meanwhile Siemens CEO Cedric Neike said the cooperation will increase business relations between Indonesia and Germany. "Germany [through Siemens] would like to partner Indonesia, much like it has previously partnered Vietnam and Egypt [in developing smart cities]," said Mr Neike.

Currently Siemens is working on a 360-MW mobile power plant in Indonesia in collaboration with PT PLN (Persero) as part of the belt and road initiative. (KR/MS)
