27 January 2020 14:30

JAKARTA - PT Citra Palu Minerals (CPM), a subsidiary of PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS), has commenced trial production in the Poboya gold mine, Palu, Central Sulawesi.

BRMS owns a 96.97% stake in CPM, which operates 85,180 hectares of gold mine concession in South and Central Sulawesi.

“We started trial production on January 23. The trial was to make sure that our machinery and equipment can process gold ores into doré bullion with over 45% gold content,” said BRMS CEO Suseno Kramadibrata in an official statement received by IDNFinancials.com, Monday (27/1).

“During the first test, we successfully produced 297 grams of doré bullion. This is enough to ensure that our processing plant in Poboya is running smoothly.”

The doré bullion will be further processed into gold bars at a Jakarta smelter in February 2020. For this year, BRMS seeks to produce around 100,000 tonnes of gold ores. (MS)
