PMA realization in 2019 only reaches 87.5% of the target

JAKARTA. Last year, the realization of Foreign Direct Investment (PMA) only reached 87.5% of the target set by the government.

Quoting Reuters, the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) announced the realization of foreign direct investment in 2019 reached Rp 423.1 trillion or 87.5% of the target. The figure is 7.7% higher than the figure recorded in 2018.

Meanwhile, during the fourth quarter of 2019 alone, the realization of PMA was Rp 105.3 trillion, 6.4% higher than the figure recorded in the same period in 2018.

Most of the investments were made in the utility and mining sectors. China, Hong Kong, and Singapore are the three countries with the biggest investment in Indonesia. (AM/AR)
