06 February 2020 11:48

JAKARTA - Indonesia and Singapore are teaming up to hold human resources (HR) training in relation to Industrial Revolution 4.0. The partnership will materialise through collaboration between the Ministry of Industry’s Industrial Human Resource Development Agency (BPSDMI) and Singapore Polytechnic.

“This is one of the Indonesian government’s concrete efforts to improve the quality of our education to produce industrial manpower that is well-prepared to enter the Industry 4.0 era,” said Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita during Singapore President Halimah Yacob’s visit to the ministry, Wednesday (5/2).

Singapore, said Mr Kartasasmita, is an important partner for Indonesia, particularly in terms of vocational education. According to him, improving the quality of vocational education is in line with one of the priorities of the Making Indonesia 4.0 roadmap, namely human resource development.

“The government is fully aware that qualified human resources can answer all challenges, including in the Industry 4.0 era,” Mr Kartasasmita added.

“Thus, all industrial human resources must be able to adapt to technological advancement.” (MS)
