Indonesia records potential transactions of US $ 3.5 million at Sirha Budapest 2020

HUNGARY - Indonesia continues to seek opportunities for exports of food and beverage products (f&b) to Hungary. One of them is by participating in Sirha Budapest 2020 which takes place on 4-6 February 2020 in Hungary, Budapest. Indonesia's participation has successfully recorded potential transactions of USD 3.50 million.

Sirha Budapest 2020 is an international event and is very prestigious in Hungary for the Central and Eastern European markets (ETT). The exhibition which takes place every two years is attended by more than 300 companies engaged in the food and beverage industry, hospitality (hotel, restaurant and catering), gastronomy, and the packaging industry. From the total participants, around 30 percent is from large companies outside Hungary and 70 percent from Hungary.

"Indonesia's participation in exhibitions like this abroad is a trade promotion strategy that must be carried out by the Trade Attaché and ITPC to open up export market opportunities such as Indonesian mamin products to supply raw materials for the mamin industry to the markets of Hungary and ETT countries, as well as other countries in the world. Therefore, participation in this exhibition needs to be utilized to the maximum extent possible to obtain actual and potential buyers to increase Indonesia's f&b exports," stressed Secretary General of the Ministry of Trade Oke Nurwan in Jakarta.

The ten Indonesian companies participating in the event were PT Rukun Mapan Bersama (RMB Food), PT Mulia Boga Raya Tbk, PT Rezeki Inthi Artha (Wilmond), PT Pondan Pangan Makmur Indonesia, PT Olaga Food Industri, Indraco Group, CV Hitara Cipta Selaras, PT Mayora Indah Tbk, PT Agro Asia Berdikari, and 1Rétköz-Pack Bt (official distributor of PT Sambu Indonesia).

For information, the total trade between Indonesia and Hungary in the January-September 2019 period reached USD 120.97 million. This value consisted of Indonesian exports to Hungary of USD 57.10 million, up 8.08 percent compared to the previous year. While the value of Indonesia's imports from Hungary was recorded at USD 63.87 million. (LM)
