JAKARTA - PT Inocycle Technology Group Tbk (INOV) has recycled more than two billion plastic bottle waste in 2019. This is expected to reduce plastic bottle waste on the Indonesian sea.

Director of PT Inocycle Technology Group Tbk Victor Choi stated that this effort is expected to help Indonesia’s government to eliminate 70% plastic waste on Indonesian sea by 2025. “We are pleased to be able to contribute. This doesn’t only mean that our business has grown well, but at the same time have contributed to help Indonesia’s environment,” said Victor.

According to the Indonesian Plastic Industry Association (INAPLAS) and the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) in 2019, there were about 64 million tons of plastic wastes in Indonesia. 3.2 tons of them went to the ocean.

From financial performance, INOV predicted that 2019’s sales could reach around Rp 490 billion, where 2018’s sales reached Rp 395 billion. This year INOV plans to add washing facilities in two different locations, considering the global economic conditions in 2020. (LM)
