Kookmin and Bosowa are competing to become the controlling shareholder of Bank Bukopin

JAKARTA - Bosowa and Kookmin Bank Co.Ltd compete with each other to become the controlling shareholders in Bank Bukopin. The winner of the competition will be determined in a limited public offering which will be held soon.

At present, PT Bosowa Corporindo is listed as a controlling shareholder (PSP) with a 23.39% stake. Meanwhile, Kookmin Bank Co. Ltd. owns a 22% stake, the government has 8.92%, and the remaining 40.21% are owned by the public. 

Independent President Commissioner of Bank Bukopin, Mustafa Abubakar said today (20/2) that the two companies are competing because they both have sufficient financial ability to become controlling shareholders.

Currently, the bank is applying for a permit to conduct a limited public offering. (ARM/AR)
