Ministry of Industry encourages growth of converting abrasives industry

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) continues to encourage the development of leading industries in the country, one of which is the converting abrasive industry. In addition to having the availability of raw materials in the form of natural resources that are scattered in the territory of Indonesia, the non-metal mining industry is also projected to be able to absorb a lot of labor.

"The converting abrasive industry is a labor-intensive industry that creates large employment opportunities, with the need for raw materials that can adjust the quality standards of end-users," said Director General of the Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Textile Industries (IKFT) of the Ministry of Industry, Muhammad Khayam during the Gathering Association Indonesian Converting and Abrasives Industry (AIKASINDO) in Jakarta, Tuesday (25/2).

The Director General of IKFT revealed, along with the growing domestic market growth, the national converting abrasive industry was considered quite prospective, given the need for national abrasive reaching Rp655 billion.

According to Khayam, the Ministry of Industry continues to make efforts so that converting abrasive producers continue to make the efficiency of the production process, by applying the best practices and best technologies including by rejuvenating machines and equipment, optimizing the use of the latest technology, and production techniques capable of producing converting abrasive in accordance with domestic and international trends.
