JAKARTA. PT Telekomunikasi Selular or Telkomsel, a subsidiary of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM), plans to add 23 thousand new base transceiver stations (BTS) in 2020 to serve 180 million customers.
Aldin Hasyim, GM External Corporate Communications at Telkomsel, said that the company has more than 170 million customers as of September 2019. "The figure is 1.9% higher compared to the figure in the same period in 2018," Hasyim said as quoted by Kontan yesterday.
Telkomsel claims that currently its 4G network has reached 94% of the population in Indonesia. Going forward, Telkomsel seeks to improve its services through a number of digital channels.
"We are optimistic that by the end of the year, we will have around 180 million customers," Hasyim explained. (KR/AR)
