JAKARTA. PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) wants to increase its sales volume in the domestic market because coal sales in China are declining.
Surya Palapa Hadith, Corporate Secretary of PTBA, admitted that the decline in coal sales in China was not so significant. Moreover, coal exports to China only contributed 5% to PTBA's total export sales. "Our exports account for only 35% of total sales," Palapa said as reported by Kontan yesterday.
Meanwhile, PTBA's domestic coal sales contributed 65% of its total sales.
Palapa added, PTBA would also maximize coal uptake in the domestic market. "We are also expanding the market to end-users," said Palapa. (KR/AR)
