JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing through the Directorate General of Housing has begun to carry out repairs and improvement of the Wisma Atlet in Kemayoran, Jakarta which will be used as the COVID-19 Emergency Hospital. Repair and improvement will be carried out for 4 days starting from Wednesday night (18/3) and targeted for completion on Saturday night (21/3).
Director General of Housing at the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Khalawi Abdul Hamid, said repairs were made to the physical building, drinking water installations, electricity and elevators. "We will coordinate with the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19 / National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) as well as the Ministry of SOEs and related parties so that the Emergency Hospital of COVID-19 is completed quickly,” said Khalawi quoted from the Ministry of PUPR website.
From the 10 existing towers, Ministry of PUPR prepares 4 towers to be used as Emergency Hospitals namely towers 1, 3, 6 and 7 which are all located in Block D10. Tower 6 from 1 to 24 floors will be used as inpatient room. The available capacity is 650 units and can accommodate up to 1,750 people.
Tower 7 will be divided into several functions. The 1st floor will be used as an emergency room, 2nd floor for the ICU, 3rd floor for the refreshing room. While 4-24 floor will be used as inpatient rooms. For doctors and medical staff, Tower 1 from 1 - 24 floor will be used with a capacity of 650 units and can accommodate a maximum of 1,750 people. Meanwhile Tower 3 from 1 - 24 floor are planned for the COVID-19 Handling Task Force Command Post. There are 650 units available and can accommodate a maximum of 1,750 people. (LM)
