JAKARTA. PT Hero Supermarket Tbk (HERO) recorded an increase in sales, primarily from cleaning and household hygiene products. The sales jump occurred in all of Giant, Hero Supermarket and Guardian networks.
Diky Risbianto, Head of Communications and Government Relations at HERO, explained that the biggest sales increase came from household and health products. This occurred since the government announced about the Covid-19 (coronavirus) patients in Indonesia and asked people to stay at home.
Diky has not been able to specify the sales figures or the value of the increase. However, the upward trend in revenue in the first quarter is expected to lift HERO's performance in 2020. Sales growth may still occur until the upcoming Ramadan and Eid, said Dicky.
HERO recorded a net income of Rp 12.27 trillion in 2019, down 5.4% compared to Rp 12.97 trillion recorded in 2018. (AM/AR)
