JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry will provide support so that the distribution and production of the food and beverage products can run normally to ensure the availability of supplies for the public to face COVID-19.
Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang said that his office would continue to maintain the production and distribution of the food and beverage products in the country. "This is so that the food supply can be maintained properly. For example, the demand for milk is quite high, because it can help increase immunity," he said quoted from the page Setkab.go.id, Wednesday (1/4).
He is optimistic that businesses in the food and beverage industry will still make a significant contribution to national economic growth this year. "We also continue to prioritize the development of the food and beverage companies which is classified as a small and medium industrial sector (IKM)," he said.
In 2019, the food and beverage industry grew by 7.78%, higher than the national economic growth of 5.02%. (LK/AR)
