JAKARTA - Indonesia and five other members of the United Nations (UN) passed a UN General Assembly Resolution titled "Global Solidarity to Fight COVID-19" at the UN General Assembly on 2 April 2020. Indonesia is a member of the WHO Executive Board which discusses and decides WHO's policy and work agenda.
As quoted from Setkab.go.id page on Saturday (4/4), Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi said the resolution was the first product produced by the United Nations related to COVID-19 since it was announced as a global pandemic by WHO on 11 March 2020. "In such a situation, unity, solidarity and international cooperation are really important to anticipate COVID-19 appropriately and collectively," she said.
Other countries involved in the effort to pass this resolution include Ghana, Liechtenstein, Norway, Singapore, and Switzerland. (LK/AR)
