Indika Energy's coal mining business still runs normally despite pandemic

JAKARTA. The coal mining business of PT Indika Energy Tbk (INDY) is still running normally in the first two months of 2020 amid the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

Head of Corporate Communication Leonardus Herwindo explained that INDY's coal mining business, managed by PT Kideco Jaya Agung, has continued to run normally in the last two months. Production and sales are still carried out according to the target.

Specifically for production, so far INDY has been able to produce 30.95 million tons of coal this year. "We also focus on improving the efficiency and productivity of the company's operations," Leonardus said on Monday (6/4).

This year, management is also preparing a capital expenditure (CapEx) budget of US$ 146 million, the majority of which will be used to strengthen the business of one of the company subsidiaries. (PT Petrosea Tbk) in the field of construction and mining services. (AM/AR)
