JAKARTA. PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk (GJTL) is optimistic that it can reduce the negative impact of the weakening of the rupiah against the US dollar on its financial condition, since the company has implemented hedging policy.
Director of Corporate Communications and Investor Relations of Gajah Tunggal, Catharina Widjaja, said that her party had conducted hedging. In addition, the company also earns revenue denominated in US dollars from exports.
"Hedging has been carried out in a syndicated loan principal payment scheme," Catharina said as quoted by Kontan.co.id, Monday (6/4).
Catharina added Gajah Tunggal was also trying to minimize the risk of weakening macroeconomy by increasing efficiency in the production process. In addition, Gajah Tunggal also does not have large expansion plans that require large funding. (AM/AR)
