JAKARTA - Coffee processing small and medium industry (IKM) is one of the sectors affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore a strategic step is needed to encourage this industry.

"In a situation like this, it is very important that all parties work together, ranging from the government, industry players, Indonesian technology companies to the community. So that economic activity continues to run amid the Covid-19 pandemic," said Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita in Jakarta, Monday (4/20).

However, the Covid-19 pandemic brought various challenges to every level of society, including the coffee business. For example, coffee shops and cafes affected by the lack of visitors, even some have closed because of the decline in sales. In addition, a number of coffee farmers in Aceh even complained about a 50% decrease in selling prices, which was previously priced at Rp10,000 per bamboo to only Rp5,800.

In order to stir up domestic coffee business players, the Ministry of Industry together with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf), Tokopedia, as well as local coffee industry players, initiated the #SatuDalamKopi campaign. This collaborative step is aimed at advancing the archipelago coffee while at the same time keeping the wheels of the economy moving amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The national #SatuDalamKopi campaign which was held on April 20-26 2020 in Tokopedia will involve almost 1,200 coffee industry players from various parts of Indonesia. Not only coffee industry players, coffee lovers can also participate in the #SatuDalamKopi campaign that will be held for seven days. (LM)
