JAKARTA. PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk (TPIA) will produce 30-40 kilotons of non-woven Polypropylene (PP) coded HS35NW which will be used for masks and personal protective equipment (PPE) this year.
Suryandi, Director of HR and Corporate Secretary of TPIA, said the non-woven PP will be used in the first and third layers, for 3-layer masks. "For personal protective equipment, the non-woven PP is the main raw material for it," said Suryandi.
Meanwhile, Erwin Ciputra, President Director of TPIA, said that the company has introduced the raw material in the Indonesian market.
Ciputra admitted that the demand for masks and PPE is currently quite high. He is committed to ensuring the availability of domestic supply of raw materials. Therefore, the production of non-woven PP will continue to be increased by the company as needed.
"In addition, we will also increase production capacity to meet the export market," said Ciputra. (KR/AR)
