RS Akademi UGM targeted for completion by the end of May

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) continues to support the handling of the COVID-19 Pandemic in Indonesia by building health facilities, one of which is the completion of the construction of the RS Akademi Universitas Gajah Mada (UGM) as a referral hospital handling COVID-19 in the Special Region of Yogyakarta.

The work of completing the RS Akademi UGM has been carried out since April 20, 2020. At present the construction progress has reached 30% with an average progress of 3% per day.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said, the completion of the RS Akademi UGM was part of refocusing the activities of the Ministry of PUPR totaling of Rp1.829 trillion to support the acceleration of handling of COVID-19.

RS Akademi UGM has a total capacity of 107 beds with 80 inpatient beds, 2 action room beds and 25 isolation room beds. The Yudhistira Building with an area of ​​4,177 m2 has a capacity of 38 beds. Arjuna Building with an area of ​​4,505 m2 has a capacity of 69 beds.

The continued development of the RS Akademi UGM was carried out by the Directorate General of Human Settlements through the DIY Province Regional Settlement Infrastructure Agency (BPPW) with PT Adhi Karya and PT. Virama Karya as contractors. The estimated budget for hospital construction is Rp 60 billion. (LM)
