Indonesia develops mobile toilets worth Rp 445 million

JAKARTA. The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has developed a mobile toilet called "Kereta MCK" worth Rp.445 million, to help improve sanitation in the midst of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of PUPR, said that the development of Kereta MCK began in 2019.

"After the COVID-19 pandemic, many things will change in the order and behavior of the people, especially related to a healthy and clean culture," Hadimuljono said through an official statement.

On the same occasion, Hadimuljono explained that Kereta MCK could hold as much as 7 thousand liters of water, and estimated to be able to serve 350 people per day. 

However, the Ministry of PUPR has not yet announced the mass production of Kereta MCK. (KR/AR)
