CEKA: Net profit increased by 11.57%, supported by interest income

JAKARTA - PT Wilmar Cahaya Indonesia Tbk (CEKA) achieved a 11.57% (YoY) increase in net profit from Rp 59.47 billion in Q1 2019 to Rp 66.35 billion in Q1 2020, supported by a more than 698-fold increase in interest income.

According to the company's unaudited financial statements, there were increases in several posts, including revenue 24.18%, rising from Rp 737.47 billion in Q1 2019 to Rp 915.79 billion in Q1 2020, costs of revenue 26.46%, rising from Rp 641.07 billion in Q1 2019 to Rp 810.72 billion in Q1 2020, and operational expenses 64.14%, rising from Rp 17.08 billion in Q1 2019 to Rp 28.04 billion in Q1 2020, resulting in a 2.88% decrease in operating profit from Rp 79.32 billion in Q1 2019 to Rp 77.03 billion in Q1 2020.

Interestingly, the vegetable and specialty oils company posted a 69875.09% increase in interest income, or in other words, more than 698-fold, from Rp 111.58 million in Q1 2019 to Rp 8.10 billion in Q1 2020, turning from a decrease in operating profit (YoY) to an increase in net profit (YoY).
